Seasons come and go. It's winter now for Billy and Buddy, always a magical time for children-and at least one dog. Between the snow to play with and throw at each other, the ice to slide on, and the quaint seasonal customs a smart cocker spaniel can twist to the advantage of his stomach... The opportunities for fun and mischief are endless! Whether the adults feel the same way about it, well... That's not very important, is it?

The Daltons escape from a Texas jail and head up to Canada. Lucky Luke is called in to get them back to jail. He and Rintincan, his second faithful companion after Jolly Jumper, follow them all the way to Canada, where Captain Winston Pendergast offers his help.
A document has surfaced, listing the names of American citizens who had shady dealings with the secret police of former East Germany. The CIA sends Alpha to escort its owner and his family, but some of the implicated people are influential and have a long reach, while other countries see in the list an opportunity to blackmail potential agents within the higher spheres of US power. It is a mission that will definitely not be a pleasure cruise.
Billy has a very normal life, growing up in a typical family in a nondescript town. His dog, however, is a bit unusual: a cocker spaniel with human-or, as he often reflects himself, superior-intelligence. Buddy's got his posse of dog pals, his nemesis the neighbour's cat, and his almost-sister Caroline, the family tortoise. But it is with his best friend Billy that he gets up to the highest mischief, targeting everyone equally with love and abandon.

An obsession, a leitmotiv, the quest of a lifetime... That is what it is to Iznogoud - becoming caliph instead of the caliph. And that is why he will stop at nothing. A ghost that drives caliphs - and only caliphs - insane? Worth a try. A specialist in scandals? Why not. A magical wax museum? Let's go! A good thing indeed that he is as stupid and unlucky as he is evil...

Life has never been dull for Billy and his dog Buddy, but ever since the circus arrived in the neighbourhood, it's been getting better and better.
Being a kid can be confusing. The grown ups parents and especially grandparents get up to the craziest antics. School can be counted on to complicate one's life. Confusing or not, it's so much simpler when you're nine! At least, that's something his grandad would say...

Iznogoud is faithfully seconded by Wa'at Alahf in trying to put his fiendish designs into action.
Never one to give up, Iznogoud buys himself a supercomputer to help him become Caliph instead of the Caliph...

Ducoboo's life isn't easy. Being the king of dunces-while still managing to avoid wearing the «crown» too often-takes work, dedication, and an awful lot of imagination. It also takes a proper target: Leonie, the gifted girl who doesn't like to share her answers with His Majesty. It's a constant war of wits between these two, under the disbelieving eye of the long-suffering teacher, fought with wigs, cameras and magical pencil-sharpeners. And when school's over, the beach is the new battlefield!
